You get the long term and non-suffocating comfort of fabric against your skin while still enjoying the passive sound isolation that leatherette provides. Expanding on the ear cups, they use the kind of leatherette and cool fabric hybrid skin that I hope to see in any flagship gaming headset nowadays. The ProSpecs technology present in the ear cups allow the headset to play very nicely with glasses frames. The headset is snug, but not uncomfortably tight. That is to say, we liked the strides in comfort exhibited by the Stealth 700 Gen 2 we reviewed back in 2020. The new MAX version of Turtle Beach’s Stealth 700 Gen 2 wireless gaming headset does not fix what is not broken.

From the rear to the bottom of the ear cup, you have the master game volume dial, a remappable dial, a remappable Mode button, the main power button, the Bluetooth pairing button, and the USB-C charging port. The headset’s onboard controls also remain mostly the same as they did on their previous iteration, with all controls residing on the left ear cup. So if you have larger or considerably protruding glasses frames, the Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX allows you to adjust the level of “sink” that the channel allows to your liking. You can actually remove the ear cups to make adjustments to the glasses frame channel. However, I can elaborate a bit further on the ProSpecs system. The cushions simply have less of a presence in these areas below. The area is not completely devoid of cushioning. This helps combat the pinching sensation glasses-wearing gamers would have when headsets clamp down on their glasses frames. Turtle Beach’s ProSpecs technology is more or less an intentional hollowing of the ear cups where glasses frames would normally rest against the cushions. This further helps to combat wearing fatigue over long periods of use. The cushions in the Stealth 700 Gen 2 headset go even further by implementing cooling gel infused memory foam inside of the cushioning. The fabric portion rests against your skin while the leatherette surface on the outside provide passive sound isolation. The ear cups continue a solid practice in gaming headsets today, using a fabric and leatherette skin hybrid in the ear cushions. The most notable aspects of the headset’s build in the comfort department are the Aerofit™ cooling gel-infused memory foam ear cushions and ProSpecs glasses-friendly technology. Under the headband, you have leatherette cushioning that rests against your head. Instead of the boom mic resting on the side of the headset, here you have a mic that folds almost seamlessly into the left ear cup when not in use. The headset features a stylish mostly black with silver trim design, housing subtle logos on each ear cup and the Turtle Beach name on the top of the headband. Outside of that, much of what I said in my previous Stealth 700 Gen 2 review remains true… However, now the Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX is also offered in a visually stunning Cobalt Blue in addition to its standard all-black colorway. On the surface, the Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX utilizes the same base design and silhouette as its preceding Stealth 700 Gen 2 model.
